MITA Services
FOX is currently a key subcontractor for the Centers for
Medicare and Medicaid Services
(CMS) Medicaid Information Technology
Architecture (MITA) Project. We are providing Medicaid
subject matter expertise and recommendations regarding
enabling technologies and the use of technical and data
standards to produce the MITA model for future State
Medicaid systems.
MITA was initiated by CMS as program to address the
future technology needs of the Medicaid program. MITA
is designed to establish national guidelines for
technologies and processes that can enable improved
program administration for the Medicaid enterprise. The
MITA Initiative includes an architectural framework,
process, and planning guidelines for enabling state
Medicaid enterprises to meet common objectives within
the framework:

The MITA architecture framework is a set of models
and guidelines that form a template for the states
to use to develop their own enterprise architecture.

The MITA planning guidelines help states to define
their own strategic MITA goals and objectives and to
develop a road map for their future architecture.

The MITA processes provide guidance for state
Medicaid enterprises to use in adopting the MITA
framework.
As
we feel it is important for all State Medicaid Agencies
to keep abreast of future technologies FOX is planning a
number of educational events, both over the web and in
person to foster a community to understanding as we all
begin a ten year process of transformation.
